Cooney Marine sets sail with iNet funding

Yacht and boat equipment manufacturer Cooney Marine has launched a new product range after receiving support from the Transport iNet.

The Kettering-based company secured match-funded support from the iNet to develop a new range of hybrid davit; an advanced version of its hand-operated davit tool.

Cooney Marine's design claims to be the first to carry heavier weights and feature an electric motor.

Sam Clarke, Transport iNet innovation advisor, said: "We are pleased to have been able to support Cooney Marine in the development of their innovative davit. Cooney Marine are a forward thinking and driven company with a great deal of in house capabilities.

"This support looks to be able to extend their current markets and enable them to continue to grow."

The Transport iNet, based at Loughborough University, is funded by East Midlands Development Agency (Emda) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
