Solicitor Fraser Brown has appointed a new partner and insolvency specialist to lead its new division.

Adrian Slater, who previously worked at rival firm Geldards, has joined the Nottingham-based firm as it launches its business services division.

The firm said the appointment would strengthen its new sector and provide support for the team handling dispute resolution and litigation.

Managing partner Peter Thornley said: "Corporate financial difficulty and even collapse is now part of everyday business news ... from small firms to heritage brands and high street stalwarts. Insolvency practice is an essential and we have looked for a long time to find the right fit for the role.

"Adrian has built an excellent reputation as an insolvency specialist over the last ten years and standing alongside our dispute resolution and litigation team members, they present a formidable line-up."

Slater said the opportunity to build the firm's business services division was "hugely exciting".

Fraser Brown has also appointed Alex Brooke-Smith to its dispute resolution team. Brooke-Smith joins from Andersons and specialises in commercial and civil litigation.

The firm has three offices in Nottingham, Bingham and Radcliffe-on-Trent.
