£1m housing scheme launches at Talisman

A £1m redevelopment is underway at the Talisman shopping centre in Kenilworth.

As part of the site's multimillion-pound refurbishment, six new apartments are being converted at Sexton House above the stores on the south side of the development. They are due to be let in September.

Hugo Hawkings, chief executive of Talisman developer Discovery Properties, said: "We continue to invest heavily in the redevelopment of the centre and look forward to welcoming the first tenants moving in, which we expect to be towards the end of September.

"All the apartments are on the top floor of the south side of Talisman and we anticipate them being particularly popular with young professionals.

"If the demand is there, it is also possible a second phase of development of apartments could be underway in 2012."

Hawkings said the company would continue its development of the north side of the scheme and added that the refurbishment and extension of chemist Boots was "well underway".

The two-bedroom apartments all comprise living, dining and kitchen rooms, a main bedroom with en-suite shower, bathroom and allocated parking.
