Made in the Midlands 2011 – tickets now on sale
Tickets for Insider's inaugural Made in the Midlands Awards are now on sale. The evening – a celebration of manufacturers and manufacturing in the region – will take place at a glittering ceremony at the Ricoh Arena on the evening of 1 November 2011.
Those triumphant at this year's awards will walk off with trophies for the following categories: Innovation Award; Green Manufacturer of the Year; Export Award; Technology Transfer Award; Manufacturing Personality of the Year; and Manufacturing Company of the Year.
Insider already runs hugely successful and well established events such as the Dealmakers Awards and the Midlands Property Awards. Made in the Midlands is a major new awards-based initiative for 2011. The award winners will be chosen by a panel of industrialists and experts who can give a clear view on what is really important for the Midlands.
The evening will also offer manufacturers the opportunity to meet together and as always with events like this, to make new contacts and to gain valuable insight from talking to others in the same industry.
A group of senior business ambassadors are supporting and judging the awards - including Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya, founder and director of WMG (Warwick manufacturing Group) and Stewart Towe CBE, group managing director of Hadley Industries.
The awards are also being backed by Andrew Mitchell, the secretary of state for international development and MP for Sutton Coldfield. As he says: "The manufacturing industry is integral to the Midlands and these awards are a great way to recognise the invaluable contribution that local manufacturers and business leaders make to the regional economy, creating jobs and supporting growth."
