Spearing Waite in Connells role
Leicester law firm Spearing Waite has advised national estate agency chain Connells on a takeover.
Spearing Waite said Connells, with LSL Property Services (LSL), has acquired an interest in Legal Marketing Services (LMS) and LMS Direct Conveyancing (LMS FC) through an investment in Cybele Solutions Holdings, its ultimate parent company.
It means Connells, LSL and the existing management team now hold an equal stake in the venture.
The LMS Group is a provider of conveyancing and remortgaging panel management services to mortgage lenders.
The Spearing Waite team advising Connells was led by corporate partner Martin Smith and included senior associate Jahid Ali.
Smith said: "We were delighted to act for Connells on this high profile transaction. Our involvement in this latest deal clearly demonstrates our ability in advising large national corporates as well as regional businesses."
