Edmond Shipway has been appointed to lead the fit-out stage of a £22m hotel development at East Midlands Airport.

The Nottingham construction consultancy business said it is leading the fixtures, fittings and equipment (FFE) fit-out work on the Radisson Blu Hotel project.

The 218-bed hotel, which is being built by commercial property company MAG Developments with the Azure Property Group, topped-out at the end of March. Work is now underway to complete the building in time for its official opening in late autumn.

As well as handling the fit-out stage of the project, Edmond Shipway has been the project manager and cost consultant on the scheme.

Edmond Shipway said it has been liaising with the interior designers, the hotel operator and brand owner, identifying suppliers, negotiating terms and managing the fit-out element of the programme.

David Stevenson, director at Edmond Shipway, said: "We have been using our experience of delivering over 3,500 rooms across many different hotel brands to the full on this project. We are very proud of what has been achieved."
