Nottingham-based Henry Davidson Developments has secured a financing deal from Santander Corporate Banking.

The funding will support the development of a £15m mixed-use retail and leisure complex in Llanelli, Wales.

Henry Davidson is leading the development of Llanelli’s Eastern Gateway project. Once completed, it will comprise a six-screen Reel Cinema, 53-bedroom Travelodge, more than 20,000 sq ft of office space, a convenience store, and several bars and restaurants.

Scott Davidson, managing director of Henry Davidson Developments, said: "We’re delighted to be on site and progressing with this scheme.

"The new complex will be a fantastic addition to Llanelli town centre and I am confident the residents of Llanelli will be pleased with all the new facilities their town has to offer. And, with hundreds of new jobs expected to be created, this is great news for the local economy."

Work commenced on the East Gate scheme in March this year and is expected to be completed by September 2012.

Henry Davidson is a subsidiary of Development Securities, a FTSE-listed property development and investment company.

Santander was advised by Midlands law firm Browne Jacobson.
