Webs Training expands with SFA funding
Plans to build a £2.2m training academy for Beeston-based Webs Training have been finalised after funding was secured to complete the project.
Webs Training provides apprentice and adult courses for the furniture and associated industries. Its new training site will receive an undisclosed funding package from the Skills Funding Agency (SFA).
The multimillion-pound academy has been designed by Nottingham-based CPMG Architects.
A 1960s building situated to the front of the company's Wollaton Road site will be demolished and replaced with a new building. Holly Mill, a late Victorian lace mill which also occupies the site, will be retained and completely refurbished to complete the academy.
Peter Sisson, director at Webs Training, said: "We are very excited about this latest development at Webs. The whole team have worked very hard to raise the profile and performance of the business with this culminated in us achieving ‘grade 1-outstanding’ during our recent Ofsted inspection.
"The new building will be the icing on the cake, giving us state of the art facilities to match the teaching and allow us to further expand the business."
The project is due to be completed in April 2012.
