Contract Fire and Security (CFS), based in Sutton Coldfield, has made its fourth acquisition in two years.

The company, which specialises in fire safety and security provisions, acquired Chris Lewis Fire and Security Southern Branch and its offices in Southampton.

Chris Lewis Fire Security has a turnover of £3m and employs 25 staff. CFS said the deal would increase its presence in the South of England.

CFS now has bases in East Kilbride, Scotland; London; Bagshot; Southampton and its head office in Sutton Coldfield. The company has a turnover of £25m and employs about 300 people.

Joint managing director of CFS, Gary Quirke, said: "Chris Lewis Fire and Security is an independent business like our own. The merger with CFS will be seamless as we are able to quickly take on the existing contracts and bolster these through our operating processes.

"Throughout our 25 years we have worked hard to be at the leading edge of the sector and our investment in developing the business around the requirements of customers is the basis of our success."
