East Mids makes 95 RGF bids
Ninety-five submissions were received with links to the East Midlands in the second round of bidding for the Regional Growth Fund (RGF).
Bids from the region accounted for 11.4 per cent of those received from across the UK, according to data from the department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).
East Midlands organisations put forward the fifth highest number of bids from a UK region, behind the North West, Yorkshire and Humber, the West Midlands and the North East.
The government received 492 bids from across the UK, totalling £3.3bn. The RGF pot has about £950,000 to distribute among projects.
A total of 464 bids were submitted in the first round of bidding for a portion of the £1.4bn cash pot. The bids amounted to £2.78bn.
In the first round of RGF bids, which took place in February this year, the East Midlands submitted 62 bids. Of these, just one was successful in receiving funding.
