Prospect Leicestershire wound up

Share | |

Prospect Leicestershire has ceased trading. The company has been officially wound up, with three of its staff transferring to alternative roles within the city council.

Steve Dibnah will work on the European Regions of Knowledge project for the council, and Sue Tilley and Pankaj Mistry will work on inward investment with the Leicester & Leicestershire LEP.

In a letter to staff, Nick Carter, chairman of Prospect Leicestershire, said he hoped that the cooperation on economic development can be promoted and supported via the new LEP.

The LEP, which has been set up to replace the soon-to-be defunct East Midlands Development Agency, will be chaired by Andrew Bacon from British Gas, a Prospect Leicestershire board member.

Carter said: "We feel a great deal has been achieved despite very difficult financial and economic circumstances. Much of that has been due to the strong partnerships we were able to forge with key organisations.

"We are hopeful that the lessons in developing and maintaining effective partnerships will prove valuable for other organisations working in the city and county."
