Wernick Group snaps up Eventlink
Eventlink, based in Coventry, has been bought by portable building manufacturer Wernick Group. Wales-based Wernick Group said the company had been a "long-standing target".
The purchase was one of two made by Wernick Group, which also bought Oxfordshire's Rovacabin. Both deals, made for an undisclosed sum, were funded partially by the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Wernick Group operates 28 hire depots, six divisional sales offices and two specialist event hire depots in the UK.
The RBS cash boost helped fund the acquisitions of Rovacabin, a cabin hire business with a hire fleet of nearly 4,000 cabins, and Eventlink, which provides temporary stadia seating to the events industry. Wernick said both companies were "long standing acquisition targets".
The funding was led by the Midlands Structured Finance Team at RBS.
Ben Dawson, assistant director, at RBS Structured Finance in the Midalnds, said: "We have enjoyed a long and very successful track record with Wernick and are delighted to be able to be able to support what we see as excellent acquisitions for the group."
