Multibuild appointed to East Mids projects
Construction company Multibuild has won a £1.8m project to convert existing retail units into student accommodation in Lincoln. The company will complete the project on behalf of developer Seedstone.
Work has already begun on the scheme, which includes the conversion of three existing commercial units. An additional floor is being created in the largest unit through the construction of a mezzanine level.
Once the development is complete, the existing buildings will be converted into 64 bedrooms.
Additional works including below-ground drainage and curtain walling are also being carried out by the company.
Multibuild, based in Stockport, said it expects to complete the project in December in time for the new student intake.
Reel Cinemas has also appointed the company to create the interior fit-out of a five-screen cinema in Swadlincote.
The £630,000, 18-week contract includes the installation of timber floors, partitioning and internal walls in the Lincolnshire cinema complex.
