M&B boss to step down
Simon Burke has stepped down as a director of pubco Mitchell's & Butlers after just five months in the post.
Burke served as non-executive chairman and director of the Birmingham-based company.
He took over the role in February from John Lovering, who left after just a year in the post.
In a further blow to the company, Michael Balfour has also decided to step down as a non-executive director.
Mitchells & Butler said it has appointed Bob Ivell as interim non-executive chairman and Ron Robson as non-executive deputy chairman.
The company said: "Bob has extensive board experience in food and beverage companies with a particular focus on food-led, managed restaurants and pubs.
"Ron is a shareholder representative of Piedmont and has been a non-executive director on the board since January 2010."
