HSBC has appointed Dan Wright as deputy head of corporate banking in the Midlands.

Wright, who will be based in HSBC's Birmingham office, joins Ian Stitt as a second deputy head of corporate banking, reporting to Maurice Heath.

Having joined HSBC in 1991, Wright has more than 20 years of banking experience. He has worked in a number of senior roles across the Midlands, and most recently led the HSBC corporate banking office in Sheffield.

His corporate experience includes FTSE 250 refinancing, cross border funding solutions and high yield bond and private equity backed transactions.

In his new role, Wright will assist the bank’s global corporate managers in dealing with corporate clients.

Alongside Wright's appointment, HSBC have recruited Tom Clamp as associate director in the leveraged finance team.

Clamp joins the bank from Deloitte's corporate finance advisory team in Birmingham, where he worked for five years.
