Giorgio's cooks up expansion with £6.5m funding
Nottingham-based Giorgio's Continental has secured a £6.5m funding boost from Santander Corporate Banking. The Italian food supplier said it would extend its Newthorpe factory and create 30 new jobs with the cash.
Giorgio's is planning to build a 26,000 sq ft extension to its factory. The expansion, worth £1.2m, will create 30 jobs over the company months, said the company.
The extended unit will be occupied by Pastaficio, a subsidiary of Giorgio’s that specialises in manufacturing pasta products.
Antonio Tudino, managing director of Giorgio’s, said: "Our plans to expand the business are well progressed, with the new factory unit due to be completed later this summer and I feel confident that with Santander on board, we have a willing partner to allow us to achieve this."
Legal advice for the deal was provided by the Nottingham office of law firm Shakespeares.
