Stoke-based Dechra Pharmaceuticals has made "solid progress" in the year to 30 June 2011, it told the Stock Exchange this morning (11 July).

The company's revenue, which will be outlined in full in its full audited results posted later this year, is 5.1 per cent ahead of the previous year.

Acquisitions contributed 1.8 per cent of this additional revenue, although foreign currency movement had a 0.5 per cent negative impact.

Its US operations experienced the biggest growth with a 48.7 per cent increase in revenue, including sales from the DermaPet brand it acquired in October 2010.

In Europe its revenue grew by 5 per cent. The company said pharmaceuticals performed well although growth in diet revenue slowed in the second half of the year.

"Although economic conditions have had an impact on our markets, the Group has performed in line with our expectations and made solid progress in the financial year," the company said.
