Waldeck wins £11m Queensgate project
Lincolnshire engineer Waldeck has been appointed to work on an £11m extension to the Queensgate Shopping Centre in Peterborough.
Real estate investment and development company Hammerson is leading the project which will house retail giant Primark’s new store.
At 60,000 sq ft, the store will be one of the largest units in the centre.
Several existing retail units are being remodelled to form one large unit over two trading floors and Waldeck has been appointed by Hammerson to undertake the civil and structural engineering work on the project from the feasibility through to the detailed design stage.
The engineer has office s across the East Midlands in Sleaford, Lincoln, Nottingham and Northampton.
Director Paul Housego, said: "This latest contract win reflects Waldeck’s strategy of increasing our presence in the retail sector and follows on from our appointment by leading online grocer Ocado Group Plc to provide civil and structural engineering services for a new £210m distribution centre in Dordon, North Warwickshire."
