Lincoln Hilton in recruitment drive

Share | |

The DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln Hotel, due to open in November this year, has received more than 300 job applications for 70 jobs.

Brayford Hotels, the company behind the development, said it had been "inundated" with applications.

The Hilton Hotel will be the city's first four-star hotel when it opens later this year.

In June the company made the first appointments to its senior management team including general manager Philip Walker and sales and marketing manager Nicola Shepheard.

Walker said: "The only adverts Brayford Hotels placed were for my job and for head chef which received 60 applications alone. We've been inundated with CVs, however, including more than 80 from students at the University of Lincoln looking for part-time work to help fund their studies.

"It's our goal to deliver outstanding service at all times so it's vital we get the right team in place. Although previous experience of the service industry would be ideal we’re looking for candidates with the right personality who can help us to maintain the exceptionally high standards the Hilton brand has become famous for."

When finished, hotel will offer 115 guest rooms as well as meeting and events space. It will also include an on-site gym and a rooftop bar and restaurant.
