More than £2.7m of property was sold at the latest Savills auction at Nottingham racecourse.

Among the properties to go under the hammer was 47 Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, which was being marketed on behalf of Nottingham City Council. After being given a guide price of £150,000 to £200,000, it sold for £250,000.

Shardlow Lock House on the canal bank at Shardlow was sold for £137,500.

Bob Crocker, a director at Savills Nottingham, said: "Throughout the year, we have seen continued strong interest from both buyers and sellers looking at the auction as a positive route to achieving their ideal selling price.

"As we enter the second half of the year, enquiries still remain strong with opportunities for not only established buyers but also first timers looking to acquire a principle residence or investment."

Savills' next regional property auction will take place in September.
