Abacus lights up WCCC
Abacus Lighting has become a sponsor of Warwickshire County Cricket Club (WCCC). The Nottinghamshire-based company's logo will appear on the players' CB40 one-day shirt.
The deal comes after lighting specialist Abacus installed new floodlights at the Edgbaston ground as part of the site's £32m redevelopment.
Within the floodlights is a precision reflector system which aims to keep light focused on the ground and away from a nearby residential area.
Edgbaston will stage its first floodlit cricket match against Leicestershire on July 15.
Darren Andrew, sales manager for Warwickshire County Cricket Club, said: "Abacus already has an impressive track record in providing lighting to cricket both in the UK and abroad and have done a brilliant job of installing the new flood lighting at Edgbaston. They have been extremely supportive of all aspects of our new ground redevelopment and we are delighted to have them on board as part of our shirt sponsors."
