VINCI Energies powers up with joint venture

Share | |

VINCI Energies, based in Coventry, has joined forces with a Newcastle-upon-Tyne business to create a new company. SWITCH EV is set to act as 'one stop shop' for the operation of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

The deal with Newcastle's Future Transport Systems (FTS) comes ahead of the government’s launch of its National EV Infrastructure strategy, which will be published tomorrow (30 June).

SWITCH EV will develop and operate charging infrastructure for organisations.

EV drivers will be able to use a range of charge points throughout the UK with a single access fob, it was announced.

In a statement, the two joint venture companies said: "The agreement will combine VINCI Energies' global infrastructure and operation expertise with Future Transport Systems' leading expertise in EV infrastructure planning and development."

Both organisations are already involved with several EV infrastructure projects in the UK and mainland Europe.
