Nottinghamshire-based civil engineering and building specialist North Midland Construction has won three contracts worth more than £2.5m.

Its highways and special projects division is to work on installing a drainage system for a housing development and flood scheme on the outskirts of Trowbridge in Wiltshire. The development is owned by JJ Gallagher and Heron Land Developments.

A 20-week junction improvement project is also being worked on for Warrington Borough Council. It aims to improve the junction of the A49 Winwick Road and A50 Long Lane, changing a current roundabout to a traffic light junction.

The third project is for Leeds City Council to repair the culvert at Red Beck in Leeds, near Rawdon.

Geoff Poyser, executive director of special projects NMC, said: "We're delighted to have been awarded these three projects. We can draw on highways skills and experience to complete the work on these varied projects."
