FW Masons & Sons rescue saves 78 jobs
Flooring specialist Atkinson & Kirby has bought Nottingham timber company FW Mason & Sons out of administration. The deal has saved 78 jobs.
Administrators Andy Wood and Christopher White of Sheffield-based insolvency firm The P&A Partnership were appointed administrators on 25 March.
They said they had sold the former family business as a going concern.
Atkinson & Kirby, based in Ormskirk, Lancashire, manufactures traditional hardwood flooring.
Wood said: "We would like to thank the employees who have worked with the administrators during the last few months to keep the business trading.
"We were always convinced that there was a good core business and that by continuing to trade and restructuring the business we would find the right buyer."
During the acquisition, The P&A Partnership was advised on the marketing and sale of the business by Charterfields International Valuers and on legal matters by DLA Piper.
