Nottingham's Clegg Construction has won £6m-worth of contracts to complete projects at two West Midlands universities.

Clegg is set to complete extension and refurbishment projects at Aston University and the University of Warwick.

It follows the company's involvement in the recent external refurbishment of buildings at the University of Birmingham.

As part of the Aston University contract, Clegg will help with the move of the chemical engineering and applied chemistry department into the university's main building. It will involve the creation of several new laboratories including Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) scanners.

Simon Butler, Clegg's regional director, said: "As well as making better use of available space, the move to the main building will provide the university with the opportunity to install the very latest equipment for its cutting-edge research and teaching."

Over the next few months, Clegg will also be working on the refurbishment of lecture theatres and teaching space at Warwick Business School, located within the University of Warwick.
