A Nottingham-based nursing home group has expanded with the purchase of its fourth property. ASHA Healthcare secured funding worth £3.9m from Barclays Corporate to complete the deal.

The company, managed by mother and son Sarojnee and Shane Mahadoo, has purchased Kirkby Manor Nursing Home in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottingham.

ASHA Healthcare also owns three other Nottinghamshire homes - Newbrae Residential Home in Westcliff-on-Sea, Camden Care Home and Forest Manor Nursing Home.

Shane Mahadoo said: "Since the business was first established, my parents had a clear vision for the high standard of care they wanted to provide. These standards have been maintained throughout all of our homes and something we will be continuing with at Kirkby Manor."

Kirkby Manor offers 40 beds for older people with mental illness.

Greg Allen, relationship director at Barclays Corporate, said: "ASHA Healthcare have a strong management team with a clear strategy for their future development. I am delighted that we have been able to support them with their latest expansion plans."

Robin Wright of Fraser Brown Solicitors advised ASHA Healthcare on the deal.
