Ashfield Land reveals Birmingham growth plans

Development and investment company Ashfield Land has moved into Birmingham's Colmore Row. The business said it is now "actively seeking investment opportunities" across the Midlands.

Ashfield Land's Birmingham office, led by Nick Jones and John Gray, said it was also on the acquisition trail.

Jones, director at Ashfield Land Midlands, said: "Our move to new offices right in the very heart of Birmingham's key business district marks the beginning of a new era for Ashfield Land's Midlands operations. It is no secret that many property development companies have had a rough ride since 2007 but we are in such a strong position that we have still been doing business while others have struggled."

He added he was "now stressing to agents that we are very acquisitive" and was keen to buy, plan and develop opportunities across the sectors.

"The much talked about double-dip recession now looks unlikely to happen," said Jones. "There is positive sentiment coming from the market and enough projections to show that we are past the worst, and that the market is going to improve, that we can now look ahead with confidence."
