Derbyshire-based Wildgoose Construction has won building contracts for two Midlands-based care homes worth £14m.

The company has secured the deals with the Restful Homes Group for a £9m care home in Staffordshire and a £5m care home in Stratford.

Work has begun on the Lichfield site, with building work expected to complete in 52 weeks.

The 112-bed care home will be built over three storeys in the grounds of the Samuel Johnson Hospital in Trent Valley Road.

Hairdressing salons and a roof garden are also included in the plans.

The build in Scholars Lane, Stratford, has also started and is scheduled to be completed in March 2012.

The 64-bed care home will be built over three storeys and will include a restaurant, a café bar, hairdressing salons and an in-house cinema.

Tim Walker, managing director of Wildgoose Construction, said: "We have now completed two care homes for the Restful Homes Group and currently have another two on site.

"These new care homes incorporate some state-of-the-art concepts in the world of elderly living and have been designed to ensure that the residents enjoy the day-to-day activities and living accommodation provided by the group."
