LSH shifts Coventry factory
The Birmingham office of property agent Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has sold a factory in Tile Hill, Coventry, in one of the city's biggest deals this year.
Swedish engineering company Sandvik disposed of the 70,087 sq ft factory unit as it has consolidated onto a larger plant. The company has its UK headquarters in Halesowen.
The building has been bought for an undisclosed sum by the RA Shield Holdings Group. It was purchased on behalf of its Coventry-based production engineering subsidiary company, Woolley GMC Eng Co.
Woolley GMC specialises in the supply of ferrous and non-ferrous machined components.
Alex Hanna, associate director in LSH’s Birmingham-based industrial and logistics agency team, said: "This is a very significant deal for Coventry. It is also unusual in the current environment that such a large building should be sold to a manufacturing company.
"Buildings of this size don’t become available that often and it is gratifying to know that it will be used to continue the great engineering heritage of this region."
