Law firm Eversheds, which has an office in Nottingham, has grown net profit by 3 per cent in its latest year-end results.

The firm said revenues had remained static at £355m over its 2010/11 financial year.

Eversheds' commercial litigation division had growth of 21 per cent, while its financial services grew by 10 per cent.

Competition and regulatory divisions were boosted 34 per cent, and the firm's real estate team said it "saw significant recovery" with growth of 11 per cent. Energy and health sectors grew by 33 per cent and 24 per cent respectively.

Eversheds' Asian and Middle Eastern operations saw respective growth of 22 per cent and 4 per cent.

An Eversheds spokesman said: "This is a very solid set of results. Whilst revenues were flat, the continuing trend of rising profits, coupled with a very favourable cash position emphasises the robustness of the business. What is particularly pleasing is that we are achieving significant profitable growth in a number of our strategic growth areas.

"The results are a testament to the skills, talent and commitment of everyone in the firm. No one is yet calling the end of the recession, however, we are hopeful that we are through the worst and are confident about the next 12 months and the strength of our business."
