Trekmates appoints new boss
Nottingham-based Trekmates has appointed a new managing director. Keith Paxton was recruited after the outdoor accessories supplier received an investment boost from venture capitalist EV earlier this year.
Under the terms of his appointment, Paxton will also become a significant shareholder in the business.
Prior to his role with Trekmates, Paxton worked as executive vice president of Fiskars, based in the US. He had responsibility for the company's Gerber, Silva and Brunton brands.
Paxton said: "I am absolutely delighted to be joining the Trekmates brand at this time. I have admired the outstanding progress the business has made over recent years and look forward to developing the brand to its full potential with the Trekmates team."
Chairman Chris Prentice said the appointment would strengthen the company is it prepares to develop internationally.
Trekmates specialises in supplying outdoor equipment from more than 500 retail stores across the UK.
The company received an investment from the Birmingham office of EV earlier this year as part of a deal worth more than £8m.
