Pinsent Masons advises Gigawave buy
The Birmingham office of law firm Pinsent Masons has advised on the £3.7m acquisition of privately owned company Gigawave.
Hemel Hempstead-based technology company Vislink was advised by Pinsent Masons on its purchase of Gigawave, headquartered in Essex.
Vislink specialises in secure communications products and services for the news and entertainment and law enforcement and public safety markets.
Gigawave,which employs 87 people, is a designer, manufacturer and supplier of wireless camera, microwave and antenna products for the broadcast market.
The company aims to complement and broaden Vislink's capabilities in terms of engineering, product portfolio and geographic reach, said Vislink.
The Pinsent Masons team advising on the deal was led by corporate partner Andrew Hornigold.
He said: "It has been a busy six months for Vislink and we are delighted to have been able to assist them with their recent acquisition and disposal programme; including the disposal of the Hernis business in December 2010, the return of cash to shareholders through its tender offer in April 2011 and the acquisition of Gigawave on 2 June 2011. We wish Vislink all the best moving forward."
