Driver wins £2m African contract
Driver Group Africa, which has its UK headquarters in Northampton, has won a £2m contract in South Africa.
The company will provide transaction advisory services to the Gauteng Department of Health and Social Development for the proposed Dr George Mukhari Hospital in Gauteng.
Under the contract, Driver will provide project management, legal, financial, technical and healthcare consultancy services covering the feasibility and procurement stages of the project.
Driver Group Africa's team includes KPMG South Africa, DLA Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr, Health Partners, EHH Architects and KV3/WorleyParsons.
In April 2011 Driver announced that it been selected as preferred bidder for the PPP procurement of the Dr George Mukhari Hospital.
The new hospital will include between 600 and 800 beds and is regarded as a "national priority" in South Africa, having been announced by the president in his 2010 State of the Nation speech.
