CPMG wins £10m college project

Share | |

Nottingham architect CPMG has been awarded the contract to design the first new school building under education secretary Michael Gove's streamlined schools procurement programme.

CPMG won the contract to build and design a £10m facility for Campsmount Technology College in Doncaster after submitting plans earlier this year.

The new building will replace the college's former premises that were destroyed by a fire in 2009. Wates Construction has been appointed contractor on the scheme with Capita Symonds acting as structural and mechanical and electrical engineers. Morgan Sindall Professional Services will handle interior design services.

The project includes the construction of the main building, new access roads, landscaping and the construction of new sports pitches.

Hugh Avison from CPMG said: "It is fantastic to have played a key role in helping to secure this scheme under the new programme. We are looking forward to delivering a first class college for the ambitious and proactive team at Campsmount and Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council."
