Liz Hobbs pioneers Tesco gig project
A scheme offering cut-price concert tickets to Tesco customers has been launched by Newark-based events company Liz Hobbs Group.
The company is producing 29 concerts at Jockey Club racecourses over an 85-day period this summer in a joint venture with Tesco's entertainment division.
Tesco is now selling the discounted tickets for concerts across the UK through its Tesco Entertainment website.
Liz Doogan-Hobbs, chief executive of Liz Hobbs Group, said: "The whole concept of music at the races is that we're adding value. For the price of a ticket to the races, people can enjoy a few hours of racing, followed by a fantastic open-air show.
"Tesco recognised that these events are great value for money, so we're absolutely delighted that they are now offering their customers the opportunity to see top artists and bands perform at some of the most prestigious racecourses across the UK."
Tickets range between £12 and £33 for live music events featuring Sir Tom Jones, Alexandra Burke, Beach Boys, Scissor Sisters and Blondie.
