Node4 founder wins European award
The founder and managing director of Derby-based data company Node4 has been named entrepreneur of the year at the European Data Centre Awards.
Andrew Gilbert was presented with the award after demonstrating "exemplary world class success".
Gilbert said: "I am delighted to receive such a prestigious award especially in these challenging economic times and whilst it is fantastic for me personally it is also an endorsement of the efforts of my whole team over the past year.
"2012 is going to be very exciting for Node4 and we are already planning our fifth data centre with a sixth also on the cards. The future of cloud computing and data centre technology is rapidly evolving and I anticipate the continuous growth of UK's market to remain strong for the foreseeable."
Node4, which has an annual turnover of £11m, has two sites in Derby, alongside locations in Northampton and Wakefield. The company will open its sixth office in Birmingham later this year.
