Midlands investors most likely to take risks, says survey
Investors in the Midlands are the most risk tolerant region in the UK, according to the latest Barclays Wealth Insight survey.
The report said more than half of investors (54 per cent) pursued high risk investment strategies for higher gains.
Wealthy investors in the region are among the most satisfied in the UK, with more than three quarters (76 per cent) saying they are happy with their financial situation.
Ben Gulliford, Barclays Wealth's regional centre head for Birmingham, said: "This report provides an in-depth study into the financial personalities of wealthy investors in the UK and the Midlands, giving us fascinating insight into their behaviour.
"As well as being amongst the most satisfied investors in the UK, it is interesting to see that Midlands investors are prepared to pursue high risk investment strategies for higher gains.
"More generally, looking at investors across the whole country, it is clear that more needs to be done to help clients understand their financial personality and the benefits of using financial self-control strategies."
