Stoke and Staffordshire's LEP board has grown with the appointment of five new members.

Kerry Diamond, chief financial officer of Lichfield-based Zytek; Stephen Dixon, managing director of Johnson Tiles; Ron Dougan, chief executive of Burton-based Trent and Dove Housing; Maitland Hyslop, managing director of Goodwin subsidiary Internet Central and Sue Prince of Beechenhill Farm, Staffordshire Moorlands have all joined the board.

They join the existing eight members, comprising both public and private sector representatives.

The chairman of the board will be elected at the organisation's next meeting on 9 June.

A new board member representing the northern district and borough councils and one representing the higher education institutions will also be elected.

Vice chairman of the LEP, Steve Burgin, said: "We’re delighted to have our new board members who will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise, helping us to get the very best for Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.

"The LEP represents all business in this area and so it’s vital we have the right people on board. We are looking forward to building on the success and fine reputation we already have.

"I'm sure we can go from strength to strength in attracting national and international investors and increasing economic growth and job creation."
