Appleton steps down at Lavendon
Lavendon, the Lutterworth-based equipment rental company, has announced the departure of its chief executive Kevin Appleton.
Appleton will step down from the AIM-listed company on 30 June. Lavendon said the process to appoint his successor would commence immediately.
The announcement follows the conclusion of detailed business and operational reviews over the last six months, said Lavendon. In a statement, the company said: "As these business and operational reviews developed, the board has been discussing with Kevin Appleton the subject of leadership succession to see the group through to the next level of its development."
Prior to the appointment of a new chief executive, John Standen will take on the role of executive chairman and Jan Astrand, the company's senior non-executive director, will become chief executive of the company's continental European operations.
Mike Potts and Andy Wright will continue as chief executives of the UK and international operations respectively.
Appleton said: "I have greatly enjoyed my nine years at Lavendon, during which time we have built a clear market leadership position. Having navigated the profound market challenges of the last two years I believe the business is well set for a successful future and that this is therefore a good point for me to pursue new challenges."
