Fresh fish swim Inafishbowl
The three new businesses to feature on reality webumentary Inafishbowl have been revealed. The trio to enter the fishbowl are Nottingham’s Cuadros Art Gallery, Chesterfield's ruffa fish spa Fresh Feet and Lincolnshire’s new vodka ice tea brand Percy’s.
The fledgling businesses, which will be filmed for the next six months, were revealed at the Inafishbowl spring 2011 awards evening.
Emma Jones business author, founder of Enterprise Nation and co-founder of Start-Up Britain, addressed the guests at the event.
Following the unveiling of the three new featured businesses, Emma Jones was on hand to present awards to the best of the Inafishbowl experts. The award winners were Steve Marjoram of RSM Tenon as Most Prolific Blogger, Greg Simpson of Press Attention PR for the Most Useful Blog as voted for by the featured businesses, whilst Fardad Amirsaeedi of NBV won the Most Read Blog based on individual visits.
Founder of Inafishbowl, Toby Reid, said: “These are tough times for small businesses but it’s great to see the energy and enthusiasm of all of the featured businesses and experts Inafishbowl. With the public sector cuts beginning to bite it’s increasingly important that initiatives like inafishbowl.com step in to fill the void. Tonight we took another major step along the road of doing exactly that. I would like to congratulate the winners but also thank all the experts for their ongoing support.”
Emma Jones told Insider that enterprise was alive and well at the Spring Awards with stories of new businesses starting and tales from existing businesses on how to grow. She said: “There's never been a more important time to cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit and surround small businesses with support. It's good to see the Inafishbowl project delivering on both counts."
Award winner Greg Simpson said: “I'm chuffed to bits to win this award because it is often tricky to evaluate the impact of PR consultancy over the short term. The fact that the bowls found the blog of such immediate use in their business is very pleasing and I look forward to reading their stories and seeing what they get up to outside of the bowl going forward."
