BioCity reveals new chairman
Louis J Nisbet has been appointed as the deputy chairman of BioCity Nottingham. Marlow-based Dr Nisbet is venture partner with Kurma BioFund, Paris.
Dr Nisbet will then succeed Barry Stickings as chairman of the company in October this year.
He joins BioCity, which specialises in bioscience incubation, after an extensive career in the drug discovery research sector.
Dr Nisbet has worked for drug companies including Roche and GlaxoSmithKline.
He said: "Under the founding chairman and board, BioCity has done a magnificent job of utilising the existing facilities and there is little doubt that this expertise could be capitalised further, both regionally and nationally.
"Realising the value of innovative science and medicine is a massive challenge but there are few organisations in the UK that offer the all round environment for development of early stage companies.
"BioCity’s infrastructure and scope for expansion puts it in a unique position to respond to the growing demand for both highly-specialised facilities and funding."
