Rudell Jewellers owner passes away

Anthony Rudell, owner of Midlands company Rudell Jewellers, has died after more than 40 years at the head of the company.

Rudell, aged 64, passed away suddenly after a stroke at his Edgbaston home. Known as Roundy to friends, he was born in 1946 to Justin and Etta Rudell.

He had been involved in the family-run business, which has showrooms in Wolverhampton and Birmingham, since 1966.

Friend and colleague Jon Weston, who is now managing director of Rudells, said: “Charity work was always a very important part of Roundy’s life and he tirelessly raised money and awareness for a number of causes. Cure Leukaemia and the Variety club were particularly close to his heart.”

“Over his prolific business career he developed and nurtured Rudells into their second premises in Harborne and into the thriving premier jewellers that it is today. To say that he will be greatly missed does not adequately cover the huge loss that so many of us will feel."
