Something for the weekend
Stay another day
Contrary to popular myth, Victor Ktori is staying put in Nottingham - and no mistake. The Savills property guru last week sent out an email to his local peers, saying: "Much to the disappointment of the individual surveyor in a competing firm perpetuating the myth, I am NOT going back to Savills in London. Quite to the contrary, the team will in due course be looking to recruit additional rainmakers. Chambers have been instructed to issue the appropriate super injunction on the individual! Have a nice weekend. Victor." That's us told.
Tunnel of love
Some people are just born lucky. People like Mark Ballard of Salloway, who has discovered that his office on Cottage Terrace near the Park area in Nottingham has a secret passage that leads straight into the Hawksley pub. We've been trying to dig on straight into the Kean's Head with spoons and a rusty spanner for two years now, but we’re not making much headway.
Walk on
Six brave solicitors from regional heavyweight law firm Freeth Cartwright took to the road last week to raise funds for law centres and other legal advice charities based in the Midlands. Lily Toop, Elizabeth Wildhaber, Chris Golland, Rachel Fletcher, Robert Hill and Felicity Fisher took part in the 10k walk. The idea of the walk is to raise money for advice agencies that are under threat to enable them to provide services to enable ordinary people to have access to justice. Bravo.
