Innovation centre set for unveiling
The £4.2m Harborough Innovation Centre is set to open next month. The site, which aims to create about 180 jobs, will open its doors on 9 June.
Located at the gateway entrance to Airfield Business park, the centre was created to promote business and innovation across Leicestershire.
Representatives from project partner including Harborough District Council, developer William Davis, East Midlands Development Agency (Emda) and Prospect Leicestershire will be present at the opening ceremony.
The centre provides 52 individual offices as well as eight studios and meeting rooms which form part of the 20-acre Airfield Business Park.
The site also comprises six commercial and industrial units built by Loughborough-based William Davis.
Building work began in August 2010 after the project received £4m of funding through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Emda's Sub Regional Investment Programme (SRIP).
Management company Oxford Innovation was recently appointed by Harborough District Council to manage the centre.
