Currie to chair Mergers Alliance
The managing partner of Birmingham-based Catalyst Corporate Finance has been elected as the chairman of the firm's international partnership Mergers Alliance. Andy Currie will lead the M&A organisation, which has offices in 30 countries.
Mergers Alliance, of which Catalyst was a founding member, completes about 200 deals each year with a total value of more than €10bn.
Currie has been elected as chairman for a two-year period.
He said: "I am privileged to be asked to lead our international business as it moves forwards. Having recently sold businesses to American, Chinese, Indian, and Scandinavian buyers we are aware of the interest overseas corporates have in making acquisitions in the UK and having the input of our local partners is extremely helpful."
Mergers Alliance said it expects "significant levels" of overseas activity in the UK over the next 12 months with the USA and Japan leading the way.
