Woodland Estates invests in holiday market
A Lincolnshire country park has ploughed £750,000 into developing its farmland into a five-star caravan park. Woodland Estates completed the refurbishment after securing financial backing from Yorkshire Bank and the East Midlands Development Agency (Emda).
An 80-acre piece of farmland at Woodhall Country Park has been transformed into a caravan park - complete with 80 touring and 20 camping pitches with shower and toilet facilities.
The project was part funded by Yorkshire Bank’s Nottingham financial solutions centre and a grant from Emda.
Woodhall Spa-based Woodland Estates said it has now received record bookings on the back of the development.
Director Steven Schofield said: "Our aim was to create a top class rural experience for all our visitors and we’re absolutely thrilled with how the park now looks and in fact we’re hoping to be awarded five-star accreditation from Visit Britain very shortly.
"The response we’ve had from our visitors and the local community to the scheme has been fantastic and we were fully booked up for Easter and had more than 100 families staying with us from all over the country."
