The former Ephraim Phillips factory in Digbeth has been sold to a private investor. The Birmingham office of Jones Lang LaSalle completed the sale of the site, which spans more than 43,000 sq ft.

Jones Lang LaSalle completed the sale on behalf of fixed charged receivers. The former factory, located at 54-76 Bissell Street, sits on a 1.6-acre site.

Originally built in the 19th century, the restored factory known as Ephraim Phillips House comprises a total of 43,287 sq ft of office space along with two light industrial units of about 5,000 sq ft each.

Simon Dicken, associate director in Jones Lang LaSalle's Birmingham office, said: "The successful sale of Ephraim Phillips House shows that investors are prepared to widen their horizons to consider development opportunities not only for primary but for secondary locations, such as this property, where value can be added over the longer term."
