Leicester accountants announce merger
Chartered accountant MacIntyre Hudson has merged with Leicester tax practice Powrie Appleby. MacIntyre Hudson, which has an office in Leicester, said the move underlined its commitment "to the strategically important Leicestershire region".
Powrie Appleby's principals Natasha Smith, Colin Walker and Dougal Powrie will join the merged Leicester office, as well as 15 staff.
Rakesh Shaunak, chairman of MacIntyre Hudson, said: "This merger is an exciting development both in Leicester and the rest of the UK, enhancing our team of tax specialists and the advice we are able to offer to our expanding client base. The merger underlines our commitment to the strategically important Leicestershire region as we continue to develop our national footprint."
Natasha Smith, principal at Powrie Appleby, said the deal came after the firm decided to grow the consultancy side of the business.
She added: "We’re looking forward to growing Powrie Appleby, both through our existing clients and contacts and as part of MacIntyre Hudson."
