Midlands law firm Browne Jacobson has posted a 'record' set of year-end results to 30 April 2011. The firm, which has offices in Birmingham and Nottingham, said turnover rose 6.3 per cent on its 2010 results to £35.2m.

Activity levels also increased by 9 per cent year-on-year, said the firm.

Over the past 12 months Browne Jacobson added clients including Lawn Tennis Association, Macintosh Retail Group, Home Retail Group and Nottingham CityCare Partnership to its portfolio.

In 2010/11 the firm announced five new partner and 13 associate promotions. Three additional partners were recruited to the firm, including Peter Ware, Kate Andrews and Juliette Shaw, bringing the total number of lawyers at the firm to 283.

Managing partner, Iain Blatherwick, said: "We are delighted to have broken through the £35m barrier, posting our best ever turnover figures in a market which remains very competitive.

"The growth has been achieved through winning new clients and new work, by working harder and finding innovative ways of delivering our service."
