Derby hosts 'mini MIPIM'

Share | |

Hundreds of Derby businesses met at the city's Pride Park Stadium to assess the prospects of the year ahead for the property market. The city's 'mini MIPIM' event included exhibitions and seminars.

Yesterday's event included the headline seminar Derby:The Renaissance Continues.

Speakers included Dave Bullock, chief executive of Compendium Living, which has been chosen as development partner for the £100m Castleward Urban Village; and Marc Ward, who is group head of acquisitions for the Gondola Group, the owner of the Pizza Express and Ask restaurant chains.

John Forkin, managing director of Marketing Derby, said: "This event is a major showcase for the city and we invited contacts made at our Embassies held earlier this year in Mipim and London.

"We sense a more positive environment with investors and it’s important that Derby builds on the excellent groundwork of the past few years which has seen a £1bn invested in the city."
